BorntoBike RT are an elite Midland’s based Cycling Racing Team
The team consists of road, track and time trial riders with the aims of competing in all events from supporting the local club scene at a ‘grass roots’ level to be very highly competitive on the National time trial front from distances 10 -100 miles and of course 12 & 24 hours! The team boasts an 27 strong rider rosta whose aim will be ever present at all National events.
2017 has yet again been another fantsic season for the BtB team in particular on the Time Trial front. The women have managed to secure the National 50 mile, 100 mile, 12 hours and 24 hours team titles along with being crowned for the fifth time in our short history, British Best All Rounder (BBAR) team. Individual TT crowns for the season are also worn yet again and to add to the sucess from the team there has been countless National Age Records, National Age Champions medals and personal best performances too.
The Time Trial teams have being bolstered during the season to add great strength and depth to both the men and women. The team are very proud to have representation at the GHS final in 2016 from Hollie who secured a fantastic second place on the podium. Also joining this year we have the great pairing of Geoff and Kevin who will be guiding their tandem to many records in the future both on the road and track, couple with the current VTTA National 24 hour Champion, the very experienced Edgar Reynolds who will be leading the assault from the men on the long distance endurance races.
BtB’s exciting new venture for 2016 has been not outside pounding out the miles chasing a minute man but in the nice warm surroundings of the Velodrome. Originally started by Steve and John as somewhere ‘nice and warm’ to ride in November 2015 the newly formed ‘Track Team’ has quickly gathered momentum. Joining them in early 2016 we had 3 top drawer ‘trackies’ that boast the most impressive palmares. In the first infant year of the track team it has see them winning National LVRC medals, Track Leagues and representation on the track at World Masters level! 2017 has continued to be successful for the BtB track team. They have continued to boss the LVRC track league and take part in the BC National Championships where BtB saw our first ever winner of a National Masters Champions jersey with Dave Ellis blazing the pursuit. The track team is now bolstered more as we head into the winter series with Mark Love joining the men’s team and also Lynney Biddulph taking to the boards. BtB also extend a very warm welcome to another very talented rider to join the track team in multi-National medal winning Melanie Dobbins who will be a valuable asset to the team’s sucess.
We welcome continued support, help and guidance from our main sponsor Bridgtown Cycles and in addition we are very lucky to be supported by OTE Sports Nutrition, No Pinz, Pyramid Cycle Design, Velo 21, SB Performance Services, Polka Dot Cycling Holidays, Beet-It, KitBrix and Karls Kit Bag throughout 2017 and beyond.
